How to Wash and Dry Baby Organic Cotton Clothes
Why we need to use the right way to wash and dry your baby’s organic cotton clothes? This is to ensure your baby health & prolong lifespan of your baby’s clothes!
1. Washing your baby organic cotton clothes by using natural detergent or soap which does not contain chemicals such as fragrance, softener, or bleach which might trigger allergy reaction in baby’s body. The chemicals might also destroy the characteristic of natural cotton such as the strong absorbency of the clothes and its comfortable soft hand feel.
2. It is preferably to hand washed the organic cotton clothes with cold water ( temperature should be less than 30 °C ). You may want to let the clothes soak for a while but do not soak for too long as long soaking may cost damage or fade colour of your clothes. Knead them gently and rinse. If you are washing your clothes with washing machine, turn the clothing inside out and put into a laundry bag. Wash and dry with cold water.
3. After cleaning the organic cotton clothes, hang them up on plastic hangers to air dry them at clothes line or washing line that do not receive direct sunlight but is well ventilated.
Tips: Sun light (UV light) sanitizes clothes, killing dust mites that might cause allergy and is also the most effective natural gems killer. However, clothes should not be dried under direct sunlight as it will damage the fabric.
4. Iron or dry organic cotton clothes on an appropriate heat. This is because high heat will damage the fabric causing them to crack or tear more easily. It also leads to clothes shrinking. Therefore, please dry or iron clothes at low or medium temperature or at temperature lower than 110 °C.
