Turmeric for Acne

Turmeric can do some fascinating things for acne. Let’s be honest having zits and acne, just plain stinks. The worst part is feeling self- conscious of it and having it lower your self-esteem.
In this short article I’m going to share with you what makes turmeric such as powerful medicine, as well as how it destroys pimples like a sumo wrestler stepping on a bug.
First what causes acne and how does it begin? Great question and I’m glad you were thinking about this. Acne comes from the Greek word acme, which means a spot. To understand how pimples get created it’s best to understand how the skin works.
Believe it or not humans have as much hair follicles as apes. The reasons we are not all hairy, at least most of us, is due to our hair being very fine and not very visible. You might be wondering why we even have body hair and it has to do with survival. In the past humans used hair for warmth and camouflage. When humans migrated to warmer climates they shed most of their hair, but on their head.
Perhaps hair on someone’s head was used in mating like a peacocks tail. The peacock with the best tail got the most mates and passed on his genes just like head hair. This isn’t good for me since I’m bald.
OK, acne gets created when oil or dead skin gets trapped in hair follicles. This creates bacteria and our immune system actually creates the redness and swelling due to inflammation. Inflammation is the cause of swelling with an injury; it’s the pain with arthritis and the redness with a sun burn.
Turmeric comes from the plant curcumin and originated around south Asia thousands of years ago. Many people in India love this spice and it’s used with dyes, to enhance health and it’s even used in ceremonies.
One of the ways that it can help with acne is by reducing inflammation. As you might remember inflammation is the cause of the redness and swelling of a pimple. Applying this herb to the skin or even eating it can benefit someone in reducing these un-attractive features.
The second way curcumin can help for acne is with its antioxidants. Antioxidants are a buzz word in the alternative health community. They are very helpful because they neutralize the damage that free radicals cause. These antioxidants can help with the scarring, wrinkles and damage from acne and harmful invaders.
Now the cool things don’t stop there. The reason turmeric is a special alternative medicine is because it can do so many helpful things and is like the jack of all trades. To give you just a small sample of what it can do, it helps with Alzheimer’s, cancer, the immune system, the digestive system, skin care, it helps with weight loss, wound healing and just ton of other things.
One of the ways to get turmeric is by purchasing the spice and applying it to your skin or sprinkling it on some meals. If you don’t like the taste or just want another option you could take a supplement. Herbal supplements offer many advantages, but there are some dangers.
The interesting thing is that government agencies like the FDA in the U.S. don’t really regulate the industry. This just means that it’s easier for companies to make harmful, crappy product s and overcharge consumers.
The question is how do you really know if a supplement product will be a good choice or a bad one? This is a hard question right? I recommend viewing a completely free report that I have written about this topic.
This report discusses how to spot a good product from a bad one, various herbal remedies, dosage amounts and more. To view this free report simply click on free supplement report.
